Service Description
Learn how to go beyond simple, round forms by combining throwing, altering, and handbuilding techniques in this six-week course! Students will use tools such as the pottery wheel, molds, templates, paddles, and more to create uniquely altered vessels. Techniques such as darting, faceting, ribbing, paddling, squaring, undulating, surforming, and more will be covered. If you’re ready to take your vessel forms to the next level, this class is for you! Demonstrations each week will serve as a guide, but students are welcome to pursue the techniques they are most interested in with instructor guidance. To Bring: Notebook/Sketchbook and Writing utensil. Old clothes or attire you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Tool kits will be available for purchase on the first day of class for $15. If students would prefer to bring in tools for class on their own, the following will be required for this class: a metal rib, wooden rib, needle tool, wire tool, sponge, wooden knife, fettling knife, and trimming tools. Intermediate/Advanced. Beginner throwing or handbuilding experience required. Ages 16+ (This class requires 3 students minimum to run, unlike our normal 2-student policy. Students will be notified the day prior if the class has to be cancelled and will receive a full refund.) Additional Costs: Glazing and firing fee: $36 One bag of clay is included in the class cost. Additional clay can be purchased from Wooten Clayworks if desired. Pay As You Go: Please note, you pay a $100 deposit when you book this course. If you do not pay the remaining $200 for the course at the first class, we do offer payment plans. However, the price per class increases to $55 each class. The deposit amount will be put towards your last 2 classes in this case.

Cancelation Policy
Bookings for classes, workshops, events, and private lessons which are canceled 7 calendar days or more prior to the class or event will receive a full refund. Any cancellations received 7-3 days prior will receive a 50% refund. Any and all cancellations 2 days or less before the class/course are not eligible for a refund. Cancellations which are at least 24 hours prior to the class may transfer their booking to another applicable date or find a substitute student to take their place. If you need to cancel after the 7 day window, please contact the store. Wooten Clayworks cannot reschedule with less than 24 hours notice due to the inability to fill the space that was taken from another potential student. Please note there is a 2 student minimum for classes to run. Students will be notified the day prior if the class has to be cancelled and will receive a full refund.
