Intro/Intermediate Wheel Throwing
Learn and expand upon the general techniques of wheel throwing, trimming, slip application, and glazing during this 6-week course! Students will be guided through the basics of wheel throwing to begin exploring their artistic visions with instructor guidance. They will explore the basic forms of the pottery wheel, such as cylinders, cups, mugs, and bowls. Simple surface decoration techniques will be covered as well.
Handbuilt Dishes (Plates, Bowls, Cups)
In this course, students will learn to use slabs and coils of clay to create plates, bowls, and cups. Students will have the option to use templates and simple molds to craft these dishes, as well as use stamps to add textures to their surfaces. You are encouraged to come to class with ideas in mind, sketches, or images that have inspired you, but not required.

Intro/Intermediate Sculpting
This hands-on course is designed for beginner and experienced ceramicists alike to explore the versatile handbuilding technique of coil construction! Students will learn how to construct forms with coils of stoneware clay and how to translate their ideas into three-dimensional forms with instructor guidance. Shaping forms with paddles and trimming, applying texture, and how to dry the piece will be taught in this course.

Carving, Water Etching, & Mishima
Carving, water etching, and slip-inlay can produce some of the most beautiful decorative surfaces in ceramics. This is an intro through advanced friendly course that explores a range of decorative techniques that Wooten has honed over the years. This course will explore traditional line carving, low relief carving, Mishima/slip inlay, and traditional water etching/water carving techniques.
