After School
Clay Club
Every Wednesday from 3:30 - 5pm
Ages 7-17
Bring your little artist to our Clay Club every Wednesday! During these two hours after school, kiddos will be guided through a different handbuilding project each week, from slab-formed pottery like mugs and plates to sculpted projects like animals and flowers, and even a combination of sculpted pottery pieces that are functional and fun!
As the Club progresses, makers who have taken multiple classes and/or previous summer camps will be encouraged to start planning their own, bigger projects that they can work on with instructor aid when they’re ready.
Please note that this club does not include working on the wheel.
All materials will be provided. Pieces will be available for pick up 4-6 weeks following the class. Instructors will glaze each piece with one glaze of the student choice, or makers can opt to paint their pieces themselves in class rather than working on that day’s project. Outside class time can also be scheduled for painting sessions for a $15-30 fee based on time if needed and students prefer to work on making new work with the instructor during class time..
Requirements:
For beginners. No prior experience required
Ages 7 +
Parents must remain within 15 minutes of the studio while the class is in session in case of emergency for children under 10. We do offer late pick up for those unable to pick up right at 5:30 for an additional $15 per session. This will not be guided work time, so students should come prepared with their own entertainment or can work on their projects longer.
Note: While we can’t guarantee the quality and success of the pieces you make in this class, instructors will do their best to guide you through the process. No matter what you make, it’s sure to be a memorable experience!
