Join us in the studio to work on ways to streamline your pottery practice! In this course, students will be guided through the basics of creating bisque molds out of clay and how to utilize them. Bisque molds are a phenomenal method to create unique shapes beyond circular forms. Plates, trays, serving dishes, cup bases, and more will be discussed in class. Students can expect to design and create their very own durable bisque molds and how to use them, which they will be able to keep beyond this class. If you've been wanting to make elongated platters, find a more efficient way to create plates without all the trimming, or are interested in ways to expand your forms beyond the wheel, then this is the class for you! The cost of this course is $400. Students pay an online deposit of $100 to register and pay the remainder of the class fee the first day of class. To Bring: -Notebook/Sketchbook and writing utensil -Old clothes or attire you don’t mind getting a little dirty -It is recommended that students purchase their own rasps for this class, as they will be utilized quite a bit. Tool kits will be available for purchase on the first day of class for $15 if needed. Basic throwing tools and your favorites will be needed for this course. Additional Costs: Glazing and Firing Fee - $45 25 lbs of clay is included in the materials fee. Additional clay can be purchased from Wooten Clayworks if desired. Ages 12+. For ages 11 and under, please send us an inquiry to see if class admittance is allowable (based on total enrollment to ensure assistance can be provided.) Cancellation Policy
Bookings for classes, workshops, events, and private lessons which are canceled 7 calendar days or more prior to the class or event will receive a full refund. Any cancellations received 7-3 days prior will receive a 50% refund. Any and all cancellations 2 days or less before the class/course are not eligible for a refund. Cancellations which are at least 24 hours prior to the class may transfer their booking to another applicable date or find a substitute student to take their place. If you need to cancel after the 7 day window, please contact the store. Wooten Clayworks cannot reschedule with less than 24 hours notice due to the inability to fill the space that was taken from another potential student. Please note there is a 2 student minimum for classes to run. Students will be notified the day prior if the class has to be cancelled and will receive a full refund.
