Join us in the studio as we create our very own handmade, wheel-thrown mugs! What better way to wrap up the winter season than creating your very own handmade mugs to keep you warm as the spring finally starts to make its way in? In this class, students will learn the basics of wheel throwing, handle-making, and glazing. This is a stacked class. No experience is required. However, students familiar with the wheel will be shown a variety of shaping techniques, decoration layout, and additional handle-making techniques to further their mug skills! Each student will craft their own unique mug, which will be glazed at the end of the class. The cost of this course is $160. Students pay an online deposit of $100 to register and pay the remainder of the class fee the first day of class. To Bring: -Notebook/Sketchbook and writing utensil -Old clothes or attire you don’t mind getting a little dirty Tool kits will be available for purchase on the first day of class for $15 if needed. Basic throwing tools and your favorites will be needed for this course. Additional Costs: Glazing and Firing Fee - $20 12.5 lbs of clay is included in the materials fee. Additional clay can be purchased from Wooten Clayworks if desired. Ages 12+. For ages 11 and under, please send us an inquiry to see if class admittance is allowable (based on total enrollment to ensure assistance can be provided.) Cancellation Policy
Bookings for classes, workshops, events, and private lessons which are canceled 7 calendar days or more prior to the class or event will receive a full refund. Any cancellations received 7-3 days prior will receive a 50% refund. Any and all cancellations 2 days or less before the class/course are not eligible for a refund. Cancellations which are at least 24 hours prior to the class may transfer their booking to another applicable date or find a substitute student to take their place. If you need to cancel after the 7 day window, please contact the store. Wooten Clayworks cannot reschedule with less than 24 hours notice due to the inability to fill the space that was taken from another potential student. Please note there is a 2 student minimum for classes to run. Students will be notified the day prior if the class has to be cancelled and will receive a full refund.
