Service Description
The total cost of this course is $400. Students pay an online deposit of $100 to register and have options for paying the remainder in-person. Payment plans are available upon arrangement. In this skill-building course, students will learn how to create a variety of spouts for pouring pots such as pitchers, creamers, teapots, and more. Handbuilding and throwing techniques will both be used in this class and students will have the opportunity to make their own spout molds and templates. Special emphasis will be placed on spout design and refinement so they pour well. Experience in a prior throwing class IS required. Students should arrive to class knowing the basics of how to center clay and form shapes on the wheel, as the instructor will Not be addressing the basics. Instead, we will be trying out some slightly more challenging throwing techniques. You do not need to be an expert by any means, but you should have had some experience with working with clay to get the most of this class! To Bring: Notebook/Sketchbook and writing utensil Old clothes or attire you don’t mind getting a little dirty Tool kits will be available for purchase on the first day of class for $15 if needed. If students would prefer to bring in tools for class on their own, the following will be required for this class: a metal rib, wooden rib, needle tool, wire tool, sponge, wooden knife, fettling knife, and trimming tools. Additional Costs: Glazing and firing fee: $35 One bag of clay is included in the class cost. Additional clay can be purchased from Wooten Clayworks if desired. Intermediate level. Students should arrive comfortable with basic wheel throwing skills (centering, pulling walls, trimming) to get the most out of this course, but it is okay if you are still gaining confidence! Ages 16+ Pay As You Go: Please note, you pay a $100 deposit when you book this course. If you do not pay the remaining $200 for the course at the first class, we do offer payment plans. However, the price per class increases to $58 each class. The deposit amount will be put towards your last 2 classes in this case. Refunds are not available once the course has begun. Payment plans are available for members and long term students. We do our best to work with the community to offer them quality ceramic education and resources. Cancellation Policy
Bookings for classes, workshops, events, and private lessons which are canceled 7 calendar days or more prior to the class or event will receive a full refund. Any cancellations received 7-3 days prior will receive a 50% refund. Any and all cancellations 2 days or less before the class/course are not eligible for a refund. Cancellations which are at least 24 hours prior to the class may transfer their booking to another applicable date or find a substitute student to take their place. If you need to cancel after the 7 day window, please contact the store. Wooten Clayworks cannot reschedule with less than 24 hours notice due to the inability to fill the space that was taken from another potential student. Please note there is a 2 student minimum for classes to run. Students will be notified the day prior if the class has to be cancelled and will receive a full refund.
