Intro/Intermediate Wheel Throwing
Learn and expand upon the general techniques of wheel throwing, trimming, slip application, and glazing during this 6-week course! Students will be guided through the basics of wheel throwing to begin exploring their artistic visions with instructor guidance. They will explore the basic forms of the pottery wheel, such as cylinders, cups, mugs, and bowls. Simple surface decoration techniques will be covered as well.

Intro/Intermediate Ceramic Sculpture
Let your ideas take shape by learning how to sculpt with clay in this six week, skill-building course! There are no assignments (unless you really want one!), so it is recommended that you arrive with a couple of ideas in mind. Students will be guided through a variety of methods on how to manipulate clay into 3D sculptures or vessels using handbuilding techniques like coil building, slab building, and pinch potting. This hands-on course is designed for beginner and experienced ceramicists alike.

Intermediate/Advanced Wheel Throwing
Join us as we work on leveling up our wheel throwing skills and diving further into understanding the potter's wheel! Students can expect to expand their wheel throwing knowledge and focus on the intricacies of finger placement beyond the standard positions. Advanced positions, alternative pulling techniques, centering strategies, throwing additional sections on pots, torching pots, and difficult-to-throw forms, such as bottles, will be discussed and broken down for students to understand.

Ornaments - Intro/Inter Handbuilding
Learn the basics of handbuilding and decoration to create unique ceramic ornaments for your holiday tree! Students will experiment with a variety of techniques including pinch potting, slab construction, coil building, slip trailing, stamping, and underglaze painting. Whether you're new to clay or a seasoned student, this course is sure to be a fun way to keep your hands dirty until the new year.

Put a Lid on It - Intermediate Throwing
Get ready to dial up your pottery skills! In this course, students will learn how to throw and fit a variety of lids for functional vessels both on the potter's wheel and by handbuilding off the wheel. Prior experience with wheel throwing is strongly recommended to get the most out of this class, so students should arrive acquainted with how to center clay, throw basic forms, and hold trimming tools. Don't worry if you aren't an expert! We will work on that in this course!
